@Tiuni: Two things though about Ulquiorra.

He was set up to be ridiculously overpowered. He's the final boss of Hueco Mundo. He kicked Ichigo's butt from here till Tuesday without even trying (even technically killed him twice.) According to Unohana, Ichigo had a Captain-level reiatsu when he was only actually at about 30% of his full strength (and that wasn't counting his power with his mask on.) So, if 100% Ichigo WITH his mask can barely force Ulquiorra to go into his released state, then Byakuya doesn't stand a chance.

Combine that with what happened between Ulquiorra and Orihime earlier, and Aizen's statements about different realms of reality, then Byakuya physically cannot touch Ulquiorra unless Ulquiorra himself consciously allows it.

So...unfortunately for Mr. Kuchiki here, according to the facts presented by Kubo, there's just no possible way he could win against Ulquiorra in this state.

I can provide chapter references if you like, to back up my position.

(As for Byakuya going down...that's a combination of Ichigo nearly dying from Ulquiorra's Cero in the past, and the fact that, realistically, anyone can faint if they've lost enough blood. Kubo may not remember that most of the time...but I do...)

@Ran: Over on my DA account, I've been told I should call myself Professor XD I spend far too much time researching the Bleachverse so I can keep the story as accurate as possible. I don't want people thinking I'm biased for Ulquiorra, so I need to be sure that anything I do with him is possible within the context of the story. (Or anyone else for that matter.)

@Tiuni: There's a slight method to Kubo's madness when it comes to character powerlevels. I broke it down in a recent submission I posted to DA:

Injuries themselves, sometimes I think Kubo just kind of works around them depending on what he needs to have happen in the story. Like, Tsukishima just got a fist through his guts, but is probably still fine (even though he's a human and doesn't have half the durability of a Shinigami.) In my case, I needed to make sure Byakuya didn't try to keep fighting Ulquiorra after stopping the Cero. So, having him succumb to his injuries was the easiest way to go. It helps establish whose side Orihime's actually on when she heals him next chapter (since she's been branded a traitor by SS.)

@Tiuni: Well, it's like I said on the analysis...each Captain seems to be about the same level of strength, but their STYLE of fighting is what makes one seem stronger than the other. Like, Shunsui for example, his power is so complicated that it works against him just as much as it does against his opponent. Ukitake's power is unique in that it can 'return' an enemy's attack, but to what extent? For some Captains, it's hard to tell how strong their skills are...but in the end, the best reference I can make is a Warcraft analogy. They're all lvl 85 characters, but each is a different class, has different equipment and a different playstyle. But, they're still balanced. Yamamoto himself might be like...a lvl 85 elite or something since he's the Captain Commander.

Still though...I doubt any off them would be able to hold their own against Ulquiorra unless, like Byakuya did, they fought with tactics instead of just their brute strength. Kenpachi could never beat Ulquiorra, but Mayuri might, for example.
